One of the hair-related questions we are often asked about is if there’s any way to make hair grow faster

Realistically, hair grows an average of a quarter-inch every month. While there is no magic potion that will miraculously speed up hair growth to waist-length waves, but here are some tips that you can adopt to stimulate hair growth.

Scalp Massage

Indulge yourself with a relaxing at-home scalp massage while you are applying your weekly hair mask or when you are just shampooing your hair in the shower.

Alternatively, you can simply run your fingertips or brush your hair with natural boar bristles to apply gentle pressure around your scalp.

Massaging your scalp will improve blood flow along the scalp helping nutrients reach the hair follicles more promptly. When the hair follicles get the goodies they need, they will produce natural oils to nourish the hair bulbs where hairs grow.

Make Your Hair Strong

If we think about it, the hair tips originally come from the scalp which means to say that they are actually very old considering that it takes years to grow out the hair.

Aged hair is more prone to damage from heat styling tools, hair styling products like mousse, hair spray, sun exposure and even the changing weather.

Your hair should regularly be treated with essential oils, conditioners, protein rich hair masks to prevent there hair from becoming split, dry or get brittle. Always remember that keeping your hair in tip top shape will avoid unnecessary trimming.

Healthy Hair Diet

As the old saying goes, “you are what you eat.” So, if you want to significantly grow out your locks, it’s about time to assess the food you put inside your body.

Foods that are rich in essential fatty acids, biotin, zinc, iron, vitamins A, C and B5 are known to encourage healthy hair growth. The effects of a healthy diet may not immediately manifest on the hair but rest-assured that you’ll reap the benefits in no time.

Wash Hair Properly

Washing hair two to three times a week is enough to keep it clean. New hair will have difficulties growing through a scalp that has a nasty layer of oil, dirt and dead skin cells combined.

Avoid washing hair on a daily basis for doing so will strip off the natural oils from the scalp making the hair either too dry (from exposure to shampoo chemicals) or too greasy (when the scalp overproduce sebum to make up for its loss).
