Vibrant and pastel colours start to fade after the first wash. They can be topped up with toner or direct dye to keep them looking fresh or gradually soften and fade out.

Vibrants & Vivid Colour

For bold colour that makes a statement — think pinks, purples, blues, and greens — we start by creating a clean, light base using bleach. Once lifted, we apply your chosen shade using Aveda’s customisable plant-based colour or pre-mixed vibrants, depending on the result you’re after.

These colours are semi-permanent and fade out quickly, often evolving into softer pastel tones. You can refresh them regularly or let them fade out naturally.

Best for: Expressive colour work and fashion-led looks
Maintenance: Will start to fade instantly.

Soft & Subtle

Pastels

Pastels work best on a clean, even blonde base. Once your hair is light enough, we can create soft and expressive tones. These finishes are created with toner and are designed to fade gently back to blonde over time, giving you flexibility without long-term commitment.

Best for: Temporary colour without commitment
Maintenance: Toner refresh every 3–5 weeks depending on fade

Placement

Colour Blocking

Creative use of contrasting or layered tones — from split fringes to hidden panels and peekaboo sections. We customise the placement and colour combo to suit your haircut, skin tone, and styling preferences.

Best for: Graphic placement or bold contrast
Maintenance: Every 6–10 weeks depending on technique
