The right shampoos and conditioners are key to achieving strong and healthy hair growth, however there is more you can do to ensure your hair always looks its best

If you’re not eating healthy, your hair will not be healthy either. A balanced diet is the foundation for healthy hair and skin.

Beef

Proper hair nutrition begins with including high-protein foods in your diet. Beef is one of the richest natural sources of protein but be reminded to choose the lean variety because the higher the fat content of beef, the less protein you will get.

Your hair is made up of protein called keratin and a sufficient dose of this nutrient is imperative in making the hair stronger, more elastic and less prone to split ends.  Protein encourages hair growth and prevents hair breakage. Protein also helps the hair to stop turning grey by producing sufficient melanin, a substance responsible in determining the natural pigmentation of hair.

Soy Beans

For vegetarians and vegans. Soy Beans are rich in protein and also contain essential fatty acids to help promote hair growth and increase hair follicle activity.

Salmon

This very tasty fish is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids that not only help in lowering blood pressure, but also maintain overall scalp health. It also has a good amount of vitamin B and other minerals that are essential in keeping the hair follicles healthy to make the hair look very shiny and full of life.

Sweet Potato

Beta-carotene is a very vital in promoting healthy hair and sweet potatoes are on top of our list as our number one source of this nutrient. The beta-carotene in sweet potatoes is converted to retinol vitamin A which encourages growth in thinning hair preventing permanent hair loss.

Spinach

Spinach offers vitamins B, C and E, omega-3 fatty acids that ensures long gleaming hair? The nutrients found in spinach also helps regulate healthy oil production in the scalp to keep it hydrated.

Dark Chocolate

Did you know that chocolate is oozing with iron? You basically get around 36mg of iron per 100g serving of dark chocolate. Treat yourself to a bar of dark chocolate every day for its iron content will help strengthen the hair follicles making the hair strands more robust against hair fall out.
